Dance Meets Design

V&A Dundee and dance company Shaper/Caper have worked together to create a big dance event to mark the opening of V&A Dundee on Friday 14 September 2018.

This participatory performance is supported by the Year of Young People 2018
Event Fund, managed by EventScotland, as a signature event in the Year of Young People
2018.

Shaper/Caper’s award-winning choreographer, Thomas Small, has choreographed the dance that involves numerous groups of children and young people aged 10-26 years old, including Scottish Dance Theatre’s St John’s Hub Dance Group.

This group is composed of young people aged 13 – 16 years with additional support needs who meet at their school, St John’s RC High School in Dundee, to take part in dance led by Scottish Dance Theatre’s Associate Dance Artist, Terri Dewar. The group has performed at St John’s Dance Festival and at Dundee Rep’s Great Big Dance Show.
Good luck to everyone!

Tune in to the opening event on BBC 2, this Friday from 9pm.
